A French Saint film starring Felix Marten as Simon Templar. The film begins with a gangster being chased on foot by the police. As he tries to make his getaway he is struck by a passerby and falls. The gangster is then shot dead by the police. Fast forward to a year later and the passerby who helped the police kill the gangster has received threatening letters. The passerby it turns out is a very wealthy man who is afraid that a friend of the gangster has marked him for death. The wealthy man then contacts Templar, who he wants to hire to protect him from an unknown assassin. The Saint is sceptical but agrees to take the job for a hefty fee.

Victors job is now to work with Mr. Evans, a man who is a strict and demanding client. Everything should be rosy, but Victor, a bachelor, finds himself more attracted to Kay, a widow, than young single Jean Ogilvie.

However they fall in love but their romance is menaced by Miss Clara Thorne, a blonde gold-digger who has staked out her own claim on Larry.

After that, the film surveys exactly what happened, looks at the incident from multiple perspectives, has a trial where the officer is charged with manslaughter, and THEN starts another plot which becomes just as exciting as the first one, and finally it all comes to wild but satisfying close in just over an hour!

Wisconsin Death Trip is an intimate, shocking and sometimes hilarious account of the disasters that befell one small town in Wisconsin during the final decade of the 19th century. The film is inspired by Michael Lesy's book of the same name which was first published in 1973. Lesy discovered a striking archive of black and white photographs in the town of Black River Falls dating from the 1890s and married a selection of these images to extracts from the town's newspaper from the same decade.
