Professor Wong has invented a television machine and invites everyone to see it at China's International House Hotel. Every time Tommy Nash attempts to wed his fiancée Carol Fortescue he comes down with an illness, and when he breaks out in a rash the hotel is quarantined. Into this hotel flies Professor Quail in his auto-gyro.

Richard Paine decides to steal money from his former boss that he is owes him anyway, and it turns to an unnecessary and ironic murder.
While out horseback riding on June 13, 1939, 18 year-old Anne Henderson comes across another rider, a middle-aged woman dressed in black, who chases after her. She's terrified and races home. It's the day of her engagement party. She's supposed to marry Robert Blake but childhood friend David Mitchell wants her to break it off and marry him instead. As for the woman in black, she is someone who knows Anne quite well.
Jonathan Blake (Tyrone Power) becomes a waiter at Lloyd's Coffee House in the early days of the shipping insurance firm Lloyd's of London. Determined to climb high, he joins a Lloyd's syndicate and becomes rich and successful. A romance with the wife (Madeleine Carroll) of a brusque aristocrat (let's not forget George Sanders) ensues, ending in a climactic duel at the height of the Napoleonic Wars. Finding his childhood friend, Lord Nelson, in charge of the naval fleet, Blake acts to help win the Battle of Trafalgar. Only there wasn't a duel, and he knew about his childhood friend's position all along. Who writes this nonsense?

Wednesday, Oct. 21 - Secret Agent: The Man Who Wouldn't Talk
An M9 agent, Meredith, has been captured in Sofia and is being tortured to make him identify local agents, which threatens M9's operations in the area. With the help of a local agent, Drake manages to break Meredith out of captivity after three days of torture. However, he is still being affected by the torture and Meredith mistakenly kills another M9 agent who was looking after him. This makes it difficult for Drake to safely leave Sofia.

Tuesday, Oct. 20 - Thanks a Million
Singer Eric Land (Dick Powell) and the dancers and orchestra he travels with are stuck for work -- until their manager, Ned (Fred Allen), has the band play before a speech given by a dull gubernatorial candidate. When Eric's singing impresses the crowds, Ned convinces the politician to have the group perform before each event. Soon the crowd demands that Eric run for office, and despite the uncertainly of his girlfriend, Sally (Ann Dvorak), Eric agrees when he finds out he can be on the radio.
