Boxer Joe Pendleton (Robert Montgomery) is killed in a plane crash on the way to a championship fight. Unfortunately, Joe wasn't supposed to die and is brought up to heaven too soon by an overeager angel (Edward Everett Horton). The angel's boss, Mr. Jordan (Claude Rains), sends Joe back to earth in the body of a murdered playboy to straighten out his life and resume his boxing career. Along the way, he meets an idealistic young woman (Evelyn Keyes) and falls head over heels in love.

Twice-Told Tales (1963)

Gerald Pyncheon (Vincent Price) arrives with his wife Alice (Beverly Garland) to "The House of the Seven Gables", where Gerald's sister Hannah Pyncheon (Jacqueline deWit) lives. The Pyncheon family has been cursed for one hundred and fifty years, when the blacksmith Mathew Maulle (Floyd Simmons) was murdered and buried below the house. Gerald has come to the house to seek a hidden vault containing the family fortune, and Alice is haunted by a ghost from the moment that she arrives.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are going on a fishing trip, and while they are riding the train, they meet Watson's old friend Reggie Taunton. Taunton asks Holmes if the detective would mind helping him with an odd problem. Taunton's archaeologist uncle has sent him an authentic Egyptian mummy, and strange laughing sounds have been coming periodically from the sarcophagus. Holmes visits Taunton's home, and has dinner with Reggie, Reggie's fiancée, the fiancée's aunt, and an Egyptologist who knows Reggie's uncle. While they are dining, the mummy starts to make the noise, and Holmes quickly finds a very simple explanation for it. But in the course of examining the mummy and the sarcophagus, Holmes uncovers a more serious mystery.

When Hartnell smashes a jeweler's window, a protective gate drops on his wrists, breaking them, and the crew takes off without him before the police arrives. After serving time in prison, Hartnell wants to get even with Lovell and his crew, by framing him for the murder of his chauffeur, using Lovell's gun. He establishes an alibi for himself through dancer-for-hire Joyce Howard, but police inspector Robert Beatty thinks Howard is a bit too eager to support Hartnell's alibi and digs deeper. Lovell's gun however belongs to Herbert Lom, art dealer by day, Lovell's criminal boss by night. So rather than getting even with Lovell, Hartnell now has to deal with the police, as well as Lom.
