Wednesday, December 25 - Lovejoy: Last Tango in Lavenham


Tink announces his retirement from the antique trade to open up a pub, and advises Lovejoy to marry Charlotte. Lovejoy's imminent eviction from the Felsham barn for non-payment of rent is another reason he decides to pop the question. Charlotte at first hesitates, but finally says 'yes' during an auction in which she is selling a pack of Victorian love letters for him. Complications arise when Jane returns from America and contemplates buying Felsham Hall, and Charlotte's father is attacked by "nighthawks" who pillage archaeological digs.

Sadly, Mrs. Pollard is later found dead and Inspector Goron of the Surete comes to London to assist in the investigation.

Bogart wants to be in on one great headline grabbing arrest before his retirement and he is convinced Lucas can lead him to Taylor Ferguson...a bar owner who's cheating the IRS. At least that's the story he tells Calhoun.

When Graham prioritizes profits over safety, Jeff resigns and is blacklisted by his boss. A chastened Graham is later forced to relent and rehires Jeff under the latter's terms. He presses him to release an unproven influenza drug, but Jeff refuses and asks to go to South America to perfect the formula. The unscrupulous Graham uses the opportunity to release the drug as well as romance Jeff's attractive wife. When Jeff returns and finds that his son has died from the effects of the untested drug, he decides to take revenge.

Dr Corder finds himself taking an interest in both Mary and Jones. Corder figures that Jones is a recovering alcoholic who is on the edge of a breakdown.

Tuesday, November 5 - Colonel March of Scotland Yard: The New Invisible Man


The queer complaint comes from Major Henry Rodman (Roger Maxwell), who claims to have witnessed a murder through a neighbor's window, depicting a pair of gloves that shoot a man dead. A more eccentric neighbor, Baron Novakov (Bernard Rebel), confirms that he definitely heard two gunshots, not the sound of a car backfiring.

Colonel March and Inspector Ames (Ewan Roberts) call upon the young couple who reside there, Jim Hartley (Anthony Forwood) and his wife Betty (Patricia Owens), who show off a portrait of the murder victim, Jim's uncle, who has been deceased for four years. Seeing no corpse, no blood, and no evidence of wrongdoing, the Major apologizes for his apparently crazy story, but Colonel March refuses to give up easily, buying time until the pieces fit the puzzle.
