When a professor is murdered in broad daylight, secret agent John Drake is enlisted to track down the assassin. He heads for a remote hunting lodge just over the Austrian border, where the suspect, Hans Vogeler, is known to visit. Things get complicated when he unwittingly finds himself handcuffed to a woman. He suspects her of being an enemy agent, but he has no choice but to bring her along while he stakes out the lodge. And though he had wished to take Vogeler alive, this unexpected restriction may require him to kill the assassin.
