Having gone west from her home in Kansas, young Gloria (Dorothy Patrick) is crushed when she hears the news that the man she was engaged to was a bigamist scam artist, arrested earlier that day for a string of false engagements (no. he's arrested for being wait for it a bigamist). Now stuck in town, she pawns her ring...and is framed by the pawnbroker (jeweler) in an insurance scam! Mobster Joe Sapelli (Gerald Mohr), who has ties to the pawn broker, believes Gloria is innocent and pays for her bail. The district attorney (Robert Rockwell) now asks Gloria to feign interest in Sapelli in order to take down his organization.
