Bill Carter (played by John Lund) has been tasked by a wealthy tycoon to travel to Reno, Nevada. His mission is to carry $100,000 to bribe and dissuade an opportunistic gambler from marrying the tycoon's daughter. To protect Carter and the money, the tycoon also hires Nora Ballard (played by Doris Singleton), a sharp female detective. As they navigate various scrapes and complications in Reno, a romance begins to develop between the PR man and the detective.
