Sunday, Feb. 23 - Foyle's War: Broken Souls & The Glass Cage

Foyle's War: Season 6, Episode 2 Broken Souls (20 Jul. 2008)

Foyle has a number of apparently unrelated investigations under way. The most serious is the murder of Dr. Julian Worth who worked at a nearby hospital for mentally disturbed soldiers and airmen. He is found in his office stabbed in the chest with a letter opener. Worth was much disliked by his colleagues and was about to leave for a new job. The police also search for a 15-year old boy who has run away from his London home and may have returned to the area to where he was evacuated. Finally, they investigate the murder of a German POW who spent his days working on a local farm but who was no longer welcome when the owner returns after spending five years as a German prisoner of war.

The Glass Cage (1964)

Two police detectives investigate the murder of a businessman who was shot while breaking into the apartment of a young woman. Their inquiries reveal that the businessman was actually involved with the woman's gold-digging sister, who has been the parental figure for her more fragile sibling in the absence of their evangelist father. Lonely and frustrated with the impersonal nature of police work, Kelljan begins a tentative relationship with Sax. But the sudden appearance of her father unleashes a torrent of long-dormant childhood traumas within Sax, who soon reveals that her relationship with her sister is much more complex -- and disturbing -- than it appears.
