Rafter Romance (1933)
To collect back rent from tenants Jack Bacon (Norman Foster) and Mary Carroll (Ginger Rogers), landlord Eckbaum (George Sidney) suggests that the two strangers split the use of the attic, since Jack works nights and Mary is on days. Both protest, but Eckbaum moves them anyway. Although they never meet, a series of misunderstandings leads Jack and Mary to hate each other. One day at a deli, Mary meets Jack and the two share instant attraction -- with no idea they already live together.
