Attractive but treacherous Louise Douglas has convinced her husband (a bank messenger) to steal $53,000 and flee the country with her. She also has convinced her paramour (a truck driver) to assault her husband and take the money so that HE can flee the country with her. Dan Mathews' suspicions are aroused by Ms. Douglas' lack of genuine concern for her unconscious husband and he launches an all-out effort to apprehend her. Aware that she is being pursued, the scheming Louise deserts the truck driver at her first opportunity and is able to steal a car from yet another would-be romantic interest in a bold attempt to elude Dan's unrelenting pursuit.
