Kicked out of Oxford, Paul Pennyfeather (Robin Phillips) lands a job at a loopy private school staffed by a bunch of oddballs. From there, he lucks into a job teaching the son of the glamorous Margot Beste-Chetwynde (Genevieve Page). Paul woos the mother, but as they are about to marry, she sends him to Tangiers, Morocco, to attend to her business there, which happens to be white slavery. This lands Paul in jail, where he bumps into his strange former associates from the school where he taught.
