When a beautiful young music teacher is slain in her schoolroom, teacher Hildegard Withers calls an old friend to help her solve the case, Inspector Piper. But when the many secrets of her coworkers begin to come to light everyone becomes a suspect. When Hildegard discovers a mysterious tune chalked on the blackboard moments before the woman’s death she makes it her mission to not only solve this murder but to determine what exactly the tune is trying to tell her.
