Carol Rogers returns from Europe to discover that her recently deceased father has left her with huge debts and no resources to pay them. Aunt Jane suggests that Carol marry a South American millionaire, but, Carol refuses and vows to find a job instead. Waldo, a bookmaker, and Aunt Jane plot the perfect scheme. They arrange for Carol to be hired as a secretary for rich bachelor racetrack enthusiast and coffee magnate, Fuller Partridge.
