I Am a Camera (1955)

Just before the Nazis ascend to power in Berlin, Chris (Laurence Harvey), an aspiring novelist from England, meets flamboyant cabaret entertainer Sally Bowles (Julie Harris) and an unusual friendship is born. As Sally feeds her extravagant tastes, Chris goes along for the ride, until their Jewish pal, Fritz (Anton Diffring), encounters trouble. Adapted from a play based on the memoirs of writer Christopher Isherwood, this story served as the inspiration for the acclaimed musical "Cabaret."

Tuesday, August 27 - The Time Tunnel: The Last Patrol


Doug and Tony are transported to New Orleans where Tony steals two buckskins for them to wear. They are captured by the British Seventh Royal Regiment commanded by Colonel 'The Butcher' Southall. They find themselves behind the British lines in the War of 1812 against the United Kingdom where they are mistakenly taken to be spies. They go to a partial court martial and sentenced to be executed by firing squad by The Butcher. Furthermore they realize that the day is 07 January 1815, the eve of the ultimate attack of Colonel Southall against the strongest side of Commander Andrew Jackson's defenses, when the British officer led his men to a slaughter. Meanwhile General Kirk invites the British General Phillip Southall, who is a descendant of The Butcher, to visit The Time Tunnel facility to feed the personnel with information about his ancestor.

Jeff is acting as a bodyguard to a beauty queen, Anne Soames, who wants to visit the Public Records Office. An intrigued Marty watches as she uses a special pair of glasses to cut the alarm and later a file is stolen by a man named Pargiter. When Jeff pursues him, Pargiter explains that the stolen document reveals him to be the rightful king of England - with his two heavies as noble lords. He condemns Jeff as a heretic, tying him up along with Anne, who has outlived her usefulness, and leaves them to die in a burning building.

Friday, August 23 - Highway Patrol: Resident Officer


Patrolman Joe Kline serves as a "resident officer" to a rural area and is required to advise headquarters of his whereabouts at all times. He discovers a marijuana field while hunting and is murdered when he confronts growers Marty St. Clair and Nelson Potter. The two dispose of Kline's body in a remote area and attempt to make his death appear to be a hunting accident. When the normally-reliable Kline does not make his regular call to headquarters, suspicions are aroused and his body is discovered quickly. Dan Mathews rejects the possibility of a hunting accident after he learns that a marijuana leaf was in one of Kline's pockets. Dan deduces that Kline discovered the field while hunting and stakes out the St. Clair farm. He discovers that the illegal plants are being harvested for shipment in a truck driven by Potter, so he sends Sergeant Morris to tail the truck to the distributor before apprehending Potter. When Linda St. Clair learns of Dan's suspicions from store owner Fred Davis, she convinces Marty that leaving the area immediately is worth the risk. They are unaware that Dan is maintaining his vigil and that he is prepared to move in quickly at any sign that they are attempting to flee.

After his file is stolen from the Nemesis headquarters Richard is abducted from his flat in Geneva, rolled up in a carpet and bundled into a van, though fortunately Craig turns up at the flat and notes the registration number of the van. When Richard wakes up he is in London, in a beautiful apartment but with iron bars over the windows. For company there is a young woman called Samantha.Richard meets his abductor who tells him that, unless he can crack a code for him in twelve hours, Samantha will be killed. Mercifully for Richard, Craig has side-stepped the red herrings designed to put him off the trail, and is on his way to rescue his colleague.

Wesley insists that the supernatural is involved, while actual illusionist Chan Canasta (playing himself) demonstrates how the book can disappear from a locked safe.

Melody Lee is dressed for a Mardi Gras ball by an elegant Hungarian woman named Magda who owns a boutique and lends her a fabulous set of diamond jewelry, including a tiara, but when Kenny returns the diamonds to Magda, Magda yells, "Paste!" The "diamonds" are fake. A mysterious "magician" has managed to get them from Melody at the ball and replace them with the fakes.

That's when it gets complicated, because the magician has actually interrupted another theft that is going on, and his mousy wife, who works for Magda, is furious that the jewels the "magician" stole are also paste.

At Holy Loch in Scotland a team of Nazi frogmen infiltrate a nuclear submarine, overpowering its crew. The demand is simple; unless five million pounds is paid as a ransom nuclear devices pointed at London will go off, destroying the city. To activate the devices a nuclear physicist is required and, when Dr. Mueller goes missing, it seems likely that he has been kidnapped for that purpose. The Champions manage to locate him and, posing as his associates, board the submarine with him. Alas, he too is a Nazi sympathiser and part of the plan, who gives the Champions away. The ransom is paid but the weapons are still focussed on the capital and, with only minutes to spare, the team from Nemesis must prevent the worst from happening.

Tuesday, August 6 - Highway Patrol: Statute of Limitations


Frank Loring, Eddie Beekman, and Wyatt Beekman robbed the Citrus Trust of $500,000 three years before and plan to flee the country with the money when the statute of limitations expires. When Eddie hits a little girl with Loring's car, Dan Mathews and Officer Garvey investigate and are surprised when John Weber (the girl's father) declines to press charges. Dan quickly deduces that Weber must have received a generous payoff. Dan learns that Eddie had been a suspect in the Citrus Trust robbery and he also learns that Eddie's girlfriend Barbara Franklin plans to leave the country with Wyatt Beekman within days. District Attorney Jason Tyler advises Dan that the statute of limitations on the Citrus Trust robbery will expire at midnight, so Dan and Officer Garvey act quickly to set a trap for the three by "inadvertently" disclosing Barbara's infidelity to Eddie. The quick-tempered Eddie Beekman reacts just as Dan had hoped.

When mobster Luigi Renaldo goes out of town, his enforcer, Paolo Rienzi decides to bring in a couple of out-of-town men to teach William Norbert, their accountant who tried to quit his job with them, a lesson. They administer a beating a severe beating and Eliot Ness is soon trying to get Norbert to cooperate with the Untouchables. Norbert isn't too keen at first but an attempted hit convinces him to testify against Rinaldo. Norbert has an amazing facility with numbers and essentially keeps the mobs books in his head. As their entire case rests on his testimony Norbert, along with his wife and daughter, are under constant police protection but that doesn't stop Renaldo from going after them.
